Irene E. Hoague

92, a life-long Janesville area resident died July 21, 2017 at her home. She was born in Magnolia Township, Rock County, the daughter of Emil and Adeline (Blaser) Schulthess. She married Donald C. Hoague on July 3, 1954. Irene was employed for a time by Parker Pen Company prior to her marriage. Following her marriage she became very active in volunteer work. She was a Brownie scout leader and a Girl scout leader. She was a poll worker in Janesville for many years. She was very active in the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary working with ped’s pet’s, with the Meal’s On Wheels program and at the Castaways Store. Irene received an award from President Carter for doing over 40000 hours of volunteer work in the Janesville community.
Surviving are one son, Gerald (Maria Kennedy) Hoague of Middleton, one daughter, Virginia (Anil) Aggarwal of Janesville, one granddaughter, Cindi (Alex) Zuran, three grandsons, Todd (Denise) Koltes, Craig Koltes and Kevin Hoague, three great-grandchildren, Andrew Zuran, Alexander Zuran and Zachary Zuran, two great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Zuran and Andrew Wade Zuran. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hoague on March 13, 2013. She is also predeceased by her parents, one son, Jack Hoague and one granddaughter, Laurie Hoague.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home assisted the family.
